A chilly day in the lava fields

I managed to sneak in a game of Malifaux against the infamous Michael Shaffer this last Saturday. As a shocker he was running Rasputina, but wanted off the snow board, so it was onto the lava. It is the natural progression of course. Read on to find out how it went.

The Tao of Tau

Or is it the Tau of Tao? I can never remember. Back again, a day later, with another 40K battle report versus Troy's Nids. Not to worry, I did get in a half game of Malifaux to chat about as well, with my Leveticus taking on Pandora. I didn't get a picture of that, not exactly sure why. I had the phone out and either my phone or myself shorted, resulting in no picture. Ah, well, on to the games.

Elite killer gets killed

I managed to squeak in a game against Troy today. He is still testing out his new Nids book and I am still failing with my Night Lords against them. Read on to bask in my pain.

Wave 3 Leveticus

As I mentioned in my last post, I had the weekend off. As such, I was able to head down to Hobby Quest in Longmont to get in some more Malifaux. I had to be out early to get my kids, and nobody showed up to play until after one, so I wasn't able to get in a full game, but I did get in a few turns against David's new Von Schill crew.

The Beatdown

With a weekend off, I headed down to the club early, mostly to get the 40K Con terrain repaired. After a couple hours of doing that, and getting all the wreckage repaired from Captain Destroyer, people finally showed up. I then managed to get in both a game of 40K and Malifaux against Troy before Dark Heresy/Deathwatch.

A brand new Lava Board

I have been working on some textured mats for playing Malifaux and terrain to go with them. This is my second mat, but the first one complete with matching terrain.
The process is fairly easy, and it took me longer to paint the lava flows than it did to make the textured mat itself. I already have an ice mat and am prepping to make a cobblestone one. Once I get terrain on these, I will be able to take them to Genghiscon for the Malifaux tournament there. After that, the plan is to sell some of them under my CWTerrainworks banner.

Wish me luck.
