Wait, what? Legion Edition

Not my anything, but fun stuff all over.

So, I recently played in another Star Wars Legion tournament. This one way South at Inconceivable Games in Castle Rock. Again, my son was the driving force for this one. It was a bit of a drive and I had to pick him up, so that was farther out of my way. Plus, I was running a D&D session the next day and was trying to get things printed the night before the tournament. I failed to get it all done, but it didn't matter, because my group didn't go that way anyway. Cause that is how it works. Anyway, needless to say I was tired for this one. My goal was to get Dylan there and hoped he had fun. I had zero personal goals. Not even "win a game." But I did alright.

Well, let's get into it.

Double Down on Double Fun

So, I may have said "later this week," but at least I'm only one day late.

With Dylan and I both not making top 8(shocker), he was planning to enter the double tournament on Sunday. I was hoping to con it up, since I hadn't been in years, and I knew that focusing on a single game all weekend isn't always that great. My plan was to step into to run a GM wanted "Teach Me Malifaux" event. But, being me, I also offered to fill in if they needed a teammate.

Dumb ....

At first, it was looking like I was good to go, and I even told the con peoples it was looking that way. But, when I got back to the game room, somebody else had shown up, playing Clones. So, he would play with Dylan, and Byron(sorry if I spelled it wrong) and I would team up in a mismatch CIS and Shadow Collective team.

Off to the races.

New game, so let's play in a tournament!

I recently picked up Star Wars Legion, at the urging of my son. He had played it at a miniature night at the Nerd Store in Greeley, while I played my league X-Wing game. He was also in the league, but had a bye. Afterwards, he was hooked, and we searched around looking for more Clone Troopers for him to add to his force. I had picked up a box of Imperial Storm Troopers long ago, when we were trying to play the Edge of the Empire rpg, so I tried a game with them. It seemed good, but I had no interest in Empire. However, the Shadow Collective has been recently released, so I grabbed a starter. And then another. Managed to play 4 or 5 games, one of them even at the standard 800 points. So, what was the obvious next step? A tournament at Tacticon, of course.
