In my cunning plan, I continue to lose, so as to throw the rest of the League off guard. Actually, if I could remember my rules, I think I would be doing better.
So, I played two games. The first was catch up game for Mike Floyd, so that he could get a week 3 game in. Do to some cheatery on his part and some foolery on my part, I lost. The first problem I had was rolling for my It Came From Belows. Forgot till turn 4. They managed to help, but it wasn't enough. The cheating was that he thought that he could reroll any leadership tests, and it only works for Panic tests. This would have meant more fear, less regrouping, more things swinging my way. In the end, it was a massacre, with me only having a lost Tomb Scorpion left.
My second game was against Dwarves. I played Patrick before, and he is the only player I have gotten anything but a total massacre against. In the end it was a minor victory for him, due solely to the fact that this week has a special rule that has 2 hills, each worth 200 victory points. He won by roughly 200 victory points. A late game charge by my King with 2 bow skeles managed to hold up a unit of dwarves, keeping him from the second hill, and a major victory. I felt that I played fairly well, the problem being that I couldn't split my force to deal with the other squad of Dwarves holding the hill in the corner. If I had thought harder on target selection, I pry could have gotten my other bow squad with a Liche Priest onto the hill, but pry not.
I have decided that a bow heavy list is pry the way to go. I seem to do more damage keeping at 24", and shooting away, outside of charge range. If I do get in combat, my front screening unit(currently Ushabti), is able to take some hits, and even my skeletons can hold their own against less specialised troops. When I am able to field Khalida, this army should be devastating, especially with 6's ignoring toughness. Warmachines beware, your toughness 10 won't help you any more.
