I did family stuff instead of getting games in on Saturday, but I did head down to a tournament in Aurora. It was a long drive, but I had a great time. And, as you can tell by the title, I took third. Out of four. Hey, don't judge! You didn't even place.

Worst Henchman Ever Takes 3rd

Double tap on the Win Button
I managed to get in both round three and four for the Infinity league today. I bumped round four forward, since I may not be in for much next Saturday. As a spoiler, I did manage to win both games, both by more points than I should have considering how close they were. But more on that after the break. I will also do a combined breakdown on how they went, since they rolled through the same tactically.

Can Infinity progress be minor?
Just some minor progress this week, as most of my free time has been pointed in other directions. I have finished my objective markers for the league. I am really happy with how the Civie turned out. I had originally thought to put some silver in the neck mechanics and such, but when I got to that point I decided I liked the simple, stark contrast between the black crevices and white panels. I did some hexagons on the flag "pole," but I am not sure about the end result there.
Hopefully, I will get them on the table this weekend, if my opponent doesn't wus out and not show.
And yes, those are my poor neglected Netrods in the background. They don't make it into my 300 point list, which, as far as I know, is standard, so I haven't bothered to paint them, since in two weeks they won't be used any more. Doesn't pay to not make it into the list, now does it.

Marut got smoked
I managed to get in two of the first non-league games in a long while. Both were versus Shane's Panoceana. I was hoping it would take the new guys seven or eight games to really pick up on Infinity. Just long enough to win the league, then get some good tough games in for if I ever get to play in some competitive events. No such luck. And as Pan-O seems to be a pain in my large metal butt, the large number of Pan-O players that are "getting it" is less than awesome.

Infinite painting progress
Well, not quite. But I have been able to get all of my Infinity models, save the Netrods, painted. I still have three Dakini and a Garuda coming, which will finish my 300 point force, so you can look forward to a few more "infinity" whatever post titles.
My favorite part of the models in the fact that the Rebots are all magnetized, so I can run anything from the box, if only singly.
Dual Zaiyens.
Or Samekh and Daleth combo.
Or I can run one of them as a Lamedh, though I have no idea why I would.
I am super happy with the scheme, and I really like how they look all together. Even with the pink, the solid black makes them look rather threatening. I am looking forward to getting them on the table this weekend.
And now a quote about Infinity(the math, not the game).
“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

Izamu double tap
Ok, so I originally set out by entering Izamu into the painting contest at Genghis to prove that I wasn't really top painter quality. I do believe I am a good painter and could be a great painter if I could just find the will to do so. I think the will is a far greater part than the skill. Skill can be learned/taught/innate/whatever, but the will to sit down with one model day after day, searching for some form of perfection, that just doesn't appeal to me as much as painting a model up nice and beating face on the table top with it. That being said, Izamu ended up winning an award. Fast forward to yesterday. I now have an award winning model in my case that I never field. Izamu moved all over during the Wave 2 Beta, and, generally, I didn't like any where he went. So, I decided to give him one last go to see if I should put him on display next to his ribbon, or leave him in case for future games. This is my story.

Thar be paint on me thumb!
Which means I have been painting. Yep, its true, hobby progress. For those that don't know, I test my paint colors, fluidity, and brush shape on my thumb nail before I put brush to model. Hey, don't knock it, it seems to work. Did I mention I am an award winning painter? I did? Well, prepare to hear it again. I am an award winning painter. These are not award winning models, but I am happy with a solid table top plus on most days.
With the Infinity league running strong, I figured I would get my Dakinis painted up. I still have three more for my final 300pt list, plus two Garuda, and a pair of Rebots, but those are waiting on arrival. I did do up all of my bases for the entire force. Then I realized I was out of white primer, so, they are currently just sitting on a stick. I hope to get some primer while the weather is still nice, and then hit them with an airbrush for the green. Anything to speed things along. Hopefully this will be at the same time that I slap paint on the my Garudas and Rebots, but we shall see.
Now I am off to bed, its a bit late. Curse you Cowboys and Aliens. It is a decent film, you should check it out.

This week in Infinity...
... I played Malifaux. Okay, so, I also played a game of Infinity for the league, but it was far shorter. I even managed to get in some painting on my Dakini. A whopping 30 minutes, pretty much tripling my paint time for the last two weeks. Sweet!
