False start and a face plant

As I have mentioned, GW has a Blood Bowl League going on. So far, my LGS can't get the info to put in games, but I am still playing. When I get some games posted, I will tag my league site on here. Anyway, the Saturday before last I started a game versus Paul's Orc Island Raiders. We only managed to get in two turns before I had to run grab my kids. When I returned, one of them threw up, so that was that game. We did meet up on Thursday for a game, and I will get into that after the break. I also ran a X-Wing tournament last Saturday. Well, "ran" is probably the wrong word. It was more of get off work early, race over, set up tables, wait for a while, clean up tables, go home. Yep, nobody showed. It was super exciting.
Well, anyway, onto the game that was exciting.

A Weekend of Space and Field

Well, I didn't end up going to Colorado Winter Invasion 2017. Partly I was sick, partly they had even numbers, and partly I just wussed. I was not idle, however. Instead, after sleep in quite late, I headed to Hobby Town and played Paul three games of X-Wing. Then, after more sleep, I ran a build your Blood Bowl team event at Hobby Town on Sunday.

Arms build up

So, I am preparing for an invasion, a winter invasion. In a couple of weeks, I will be headed to Winter Invasion 2017. It will be a 999point Dropzone Commander three round tournament. I have never done a Dropzone tournament, so it should be interesting. As such, I figured I should probably get a few games of DzC in before the event and hopefully come up with a decent list.

Two by two by two by two.... And Dropfleet

As has been the standard for a while, on the Saturdays that I don't have my kids, after hours we throw down a game of Firefly. Well, this past week was no different. However, what was strikingly out of the ordinary was how often I drew the reshuffle Misbehave card. During the game, we saw it come up 6 or 7 times, of those, I drew it 5 times. Suffice it to say that this game was mildly frustrating. Not in a bad way, I just couldn't get through. However I did manage to get some Dropfleet games in, both on Saturday and during the week. And after the break I will tell you how those went.

New Year's resolution: post more

Well, 2016 was rather light on posts. Between school and life, I just haven't got anything posted. I HAVE played games, though my hobby progress has slowed. My current games of choice are AOS and the new Dropfleet Commander. I recently purchased some yhetee, but beyond that my ogres have stalled. Tomb Kings are just more versatile and thus more fun. I have also been playing Dropzone, since my kids got starters for Christmas.
Anyway, I'm just going to do a picture dump of recent games.

My WIP Destruction army

Hey they are in all their WIP glory.
Current list (likely to change):
Butcher
Bruiser standard bearer
Moon clan shaman
Moon class boss on squig
Huskard on Thundertusk
9 Ogors
3 Maneaters
3 Yhetees
40 Moon clan with spears
20 Moon clan with bows (current 3rd BL)
6-7 Fanatics

Probably going to drop the Moon clan with bows for a 3 man Ogor unit.
Likely going to add some leadbelchers at some point.

Now for some close ups
Butcher

 Bruiser

 Maneaters

 Ogors

 Thundertusk

 Moon clan with spears

Thanks for looking. Leave comments and catchya all later.

So very quiet

Things have been very quiet around here as of late. Mostly I blame school. As many bloggers before me can attest, going back to school drains any will to write anything right out of you.
But do not fret. I am in fact still around and still gaming. I hope to have some Ogor pictures up soon, as they are coming along pretty well. As far as gaming, it has been mostly AoS, but Firefly the board game has dug in deep as well.
That is all for this short update. Hopefully, I will find the will to post again soon.
Until next time
And there will be a next time.
